The name of the property is Greystones and it’s located at Cane Garden, St. Vincent (SVG). Its on about an acre and a quarter of land. Is a five-minute drive into Kingstown and to the airport and the Grenadines ferry terminal. It was redesigned in 2006 when we purchased it by British architect Richard Blunden, who transformed it from a closed in dwelling to one with an indoor-outdoor feeling. It has much stonework and most of the wood is purple heart and greenheart. It has the biggest gardens of any property within such vicinity to Kingstown.
Its garden is mature with many fruit and flowering trees. The landscaping was done also in 2007 by local landscape artist known as ‘Ras John.’ It has recently been outfitted with air conditioning units in every room, including the master bathroom.
The master bedroom has a panoramic view of the Grenadines, as does the living room. The house was redesigned to allow for views only of the Caribbean Sea and neighboring islands to be maximized from many viewpoints inside the house.
The feeling created by the architect is of proximity to the ocean, even though the house is very high above sea level. It is designed to create a sense of closeness to the sea and to be integrated into its lush gardens.
